This project was the de-construction of an existing dilapidated stone and brick barn and to replace it with a single-story detached one bedroom annexe. The existing structure was replaced with modern cavity walls whilst reusing the historic materials to create an annexe that blends in this the adjacent farmhouse.
A contemporary side extension using timber cladding and a metal profile roof to define the new extension was also added.
Internally oak trusses and purlins were used to create an attractive feature in the tall pitched open roof space.
On completion of the works the client said this, “I have to tell you again how thrilled I am with the cottage… the workmanship and the whole look… it really is more than I had expected. Sooo many thanks to you and your team.”
